Tahur and Toxins Don't Mix

Over the past few years Tahur has worked to perfect its hair and body recipes.  We created and tested a great many recipes until we settled on a select few that we believe are truly crafted to provide the most nourishing and health promoting products for your natural lifestyle.

During this process, we have created and tested several natural body lotions and hair conditioners. We have found that adding water to any product creates a harmful environment within two to three days if some sort of preservative is not used.  We also discovered that even essential oils aren't 100% effective in stopping the growth of fungus and bacteria in the presence of water.

The fact is, whenever water is present there is no combination of essential oils that will do anything other than delay, for a day or two, the growth of many harmful bacteria and fungi in handcrafted skin and hair care products.

Because if this, Tahur has not and will not provide for sell or free any water-based products, including lotions and conditioners.  What we do offer are the most naturally nourishing, rejuvenating, and restoring products for your hair and body needs.

We carefully choose every ingredient that goes into our products, and we formulate those ingredients in such a way that they penetrate your skin, scalp, and hair follicles, locking in moisture and offering protection from environmental as well as self inflicted damage.

We aren't offering miracles, but we are offering a truly natural solution to your clean . pure. simple living.

Listed below are Ingredients you will never see in a Tahur product, as well as brief definitions of the harm these ingredients can cause.

Please note, that even some products listed as natural or natural derived contain many of the ingredients listed.  We urge you to carefully read the ingredient list of every product you put on your body, your scalp, and hair.  Because truly, if you wouldn't eat it, why would you wear it?

Acrylamides - thickeners used for a variety of cosmetic purposes. In personal care products they act as stabilizers to add richness and body. However the material may be a possible human carcinogen because of its potentially harmful impurities. It is already a restricted substance in European cosmetics.

Alcohol denat  (denatured alcohol) - petrochemical by product. Also usually contains benzyl alcohol making it undrinkable. Can cause systemic eczematous contact dermatitis and chemical sensitivities. Used in all commercial perfumes, used as solvent.

Aluminum ingredients - skin irritants, can cause Alzheimer's, lung disease

Benzoic Acid - while naturally occurring can be derived from plants or animals. When derived from animals it is derived from urine, viscera, muscles, and gland secretions.  Make sure your source is plant derived if using in vegan products.  Too much benzoic acid may affect the liver and kidneys, along with more serious issues like excessive cyclamate.

Benzyl alcohol - Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Severe irritant for eyes, skin and respiratory system. Petrochemical.

Bismuth Oxychloride - Bismuth is put in cosmetics because it gives a sheen to!the face, is soft to the touch, and is extremely inexpensive. A by-product of lead and copper refining, bismuth oxychloride is a heavy metal. Heavy metals have been linked to Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s Disease.

BHA and BHT - Cancer, encourage the breakdown of vitamins such as vitamin D, can cause lipid and cholesterol levels to increase, endocrine disrupter.

Dehydroacetic acid - synthetic preservative classified as harmful and toxic to use around the mouth.

Diazolidinyl Urea is mixture of different formaldehyde addition products including polymers, produced by the chemical reaction of allantoin and formaldehyde in the presence of sodium hydroxide solution and heat.  Is the 14th highest cause of contact dermatitis.

Diethanolamine - DEA is used as a skin softener and humectant in personal care products. It can be carcinogenic when combined with other ingredients. It is a skin irritant. It’s close and dangerous cousins are TEA, and MEA

Ethoxylates - chemical compounds made as reaction products involving ethylene oxide. Ethoxylated materials include ingredients such as Laureth, Myreth, Ceteth, Ceteareth, Glycereth, etc. Trace contaminants in some ethoxylates have been implicated as potent carcinogens.

Formaldehyde - preservative which include Imidazolidinyl Urea, Diazolidinyl Urea, DMDM Hydantoin and Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate. Known irritant and potential carcinogen. It is often hidden in other ingredients, banned in Sweden and Japan mainly because of its inability to inhibit the growth of acid producing bacteria and it's implication in cancer.

Fragrance - highly allergenic. Companies do not have to list the chemicals used in fragrances. They contain large quantities of toxins and chemicals not disclosed. Fragrance-free means that fragrance chemicals have been added to the product to mask the natural aromas of the ingredients.

Glycol - often used as solvents for preservatives and other materials. Glycols are potentially irritating and harmful to the skin. Examples are Propylene, Butylene, Pentylene, Hexylene, and Caprylyl Glycol.

Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate - IPBC is a suspected gastrointestinal and liver toxin, and is thought to present risks to human reproduction and development, having been linked to the potential for reduced fertility and increased risk of pregnancy problems. It’s a suspected teratogen, which means that it may increase the risk of birth defects.  IPBC can also increase your risk for contact dermatitis—skin allergies.  IPBC is also listed as: IBP Butyl-3-iodo-2-propynylcarbamate,  carbamic acid, Glycacil®, IODOCARB®. This product is under restricted use in Europe and Japan.

Laureth family - sodium lauryl sulfate, any ingredient with laureth or lauryl in the name. Carcinogenic, skin irritants may be contaminated with large amounts of toxins in manufacturing process contains ammonium salts, mutagen, acne producing.

Mineral Oil - occlusive, non-nutritive petroleum derivative.

MMP (Matrix Metalloproteinase) -  an enzyme that breaks down collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. They are involved in wound healing, but also cause premature aging of the skin and tumor cell metastasis.

Myreth - ethoxylated compound used in various surfactants such as Sodium Myreth Sulfate.

Methylisothiazolinone - antimicrobial agent found in some shampoos and hand creams and widely used in industrial settings inhibits the development of particular neuron structures that are essential for transmitting signals between cells. prolonged exposure to low levels of methylisothiazolinone (MIT) may have potentially damaging consequences to a developing nervous system.

Octyl stearate - acne producing, contact dermatitis, allergic reactions

Parabens-petro-chemicals - (methyl, propyl, etc. - paraben family) implicated in a multitude of health problems, estrogenic, cancer causing, allergenic, found in breast tissue, replicates in dna, stored in fat cells.

Phthalates – Phthalates are synthetic chemical compounds mainly used as softening agents and to create fragrance. Look out for your plastics – squeeze bottles, shower curtains, soft plastics. Carcinogens, mutation agents.

Parabens - Parabens are synthetic compounds used as a preservative in most beauty products. You can find them listed as methylparabens, propylparabens, butylparabens, and ethylparabens. Parabens cause many allergic reactions and skin rashes. They have also been found in breast cancer tissue.

PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) - a water soluble polymer used as an emulsifier and plasticizer. Impurities in these materials have been cited as potentially carcinogenic.

Petrochemicals - derived from raw materials of petroleum or natural gas origin. These include materials such as propylene glycol, ethoxylates, acrylamides, mineral oil and polyethylene glycol (PEG). Peg ingredients - carcinogens, acne promoters, contact dermatitis.

Petrolatum - derivative also known as petroleum jelly. Petrolatum is very occlusive and can clog pores. Additionally it provides no nutritive value to the skin and contains no essential fatty acids petroleum by-products can pass through the brain barrier and cause ADD/dyslexia symptoms. Acne producing, may be carcinogenic, causes dry skin, respiratory toxin, may cause dizziness.

Phenoxyethanol - synthetic ether alcohol preservative. can cause contact dermatitis. synthetic preservatives are considered by leading dermatological associations to be the number one cause of contact dermatitis.  Toxic to infants via ingestion, and "can depress the central nervous system and may cause vomiting and diarrhea." Combined with chlorphenesin, these two chemicals can cause respiratory depression in infants.  May have neurotoxin potential.

Silicone - synthetic additive used to provide emolliency. Some forms of silicone such as Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone and Cyclopentasiloxane, Methicone, and Phenyl Trimethicone can be harmful or irritating to the skin.

Sodium Laurel Sulfate  – SLS is put in many soaps, cleansers, and shampoos to enhance the foaming action of a product. It is a common skin irritant and is rapidly absorbed into the heart, liver, brain, and eyes, which can cause long-term effects. It has been linked to cataracts in adults and inhibiting proper development of children’s eyes.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate  – SLES is another form of SLS. When reacting with other ingredients, it can be carcinogenic and rapidly absorbs into the body. It is a skin irritant and may cause hair loss.

Sorbic acid, while naturally occurring involves condensation of malonic acid and trans-butenal. It can also be prepared from isomeric hexadienoic acids, which are available via a nickel-catalyzed reaction of allyl chloride, acetylene, and carbon monoxide. The route used commercially, however, is from crotonaldehyde and ketene. Crotonaldehyde is extremely Hazardous.

Synthetic Dyes – Synthetic colors are a byproducts of the petroleum industry. The molecular structure of these products are so small that they can pass through the brain barrier. This can manifest itself as turning numbers backwards when writing or reading, peeling skin, acne, or ADD symptoms. Many people have allergies to artificial colorings, especially red 40.

Talc – Talc has asbestos in it. Asbestos is another dangerous carcinogen. Do not use on babies, linked to ovarian cancer, respiratory toxin

TEA - Triethanolamine ingredients with TEA in front such as Tea lauryl sulfate) severe irritants, can contain ammonium salts, eye irritant, sensitizer, may cause formation of carcinogens, mildly toxic.

The following are a list of Preservatives often found in many "natural" products:

Optiphen Plus contains Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid - see above list

Optiphen contains Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol - see above list

Optiphen ND contains phenoxyethanol, benzoic acid, and dehydroacetic acid - see above list

Germaben And Germaben II contains Propylene Glycol (and) Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Methylparaben (and) Propylparaben - see above list.

Boycott Seedless Fruit

To say I'm horrified is putting it mildly. Apparently the demand has gotten so great for seedless fruit that seeded fruit is almost non existent.

Many people do not care that man is corrupting our food supply and destroying the natural DNA of our food, thereby destroying our natural DNA as well.   I am not being overly dramatic. I'm being very real here. Sooner or later there will be no more real food!

Seedless citrus fruit makes reproducing citrus trees from seed pretty much impossible.

Seedless fruit is obtained by grafting buds from existing seedless trees onto young trees. LABORATORIES grow seedless plant matter in a growing solution until it is vial me. Then they plant it in a growing medium until the plant is a small sapling and can be transplanted to a grove.

These folks are playing Creator.  They are messing up the Eco system YHUH created. They are causing people to die through diverse diseases.

And guess what??  As long as we buy it they will continue to make money.  And as long as they are making money they do NOT CARE!

At some point we should care enough about what we are putting into our bodies and the bodies of our future generations.

Is it really that hard to deseed a pummelo or a mandarin?  Would you rather do that or try and figure out why your blood isn't absorbing enough iron resulting in some sort of chronic blood disorder?

If you don't care about your body, care about our planet.  It is the only one we have.  Brashyth/Genesis 1 and 2 tell us that our purpose was to make it fruitful and to help it thrive.  Instead we are killing it b

Brashyth 1:29 tells us that seeded plants and fruit are supposed to be our food. Something grown in a laboratory can never be considered food. It's an experiment. We can continue to let science experiment with our world or we can do something about it.

Thirty Day Salad Challenge

It's been a little while since I last posted here.. Wanted to do a quick update on the goings on with Tahur..

We completed the 30 day raw food challenge, and it was amazing.  The sisters and I had a great time of nutritional, spiritual, and physical growth.  During the challenge we gained mental clarity, emotional strength, a change in our appetites, as well as the kind of foods we desired to eat.  We became more energized, and slept better.  All in all, the challenge brought us closer together in fellowship and sisterhood.  It was such a success, that we decided to do another challenge.  One that wasn't as strict as the raw food challenge, but a challenge nevertheless.

A little over a week ago, we embarked on a 30 day salad challenge.  The challenge was to make at least one meal of your day a salad.  A salad that is that was simply a combination of fruits and/or vegetables and nothing else.

We are on day 9 of the challenge, and so far it's been going great.  We've been sharing photos and ideas, and just enjoying the overall health benefits to be enjoyed during this challenge.

It isn't too late to join us.  We still have a little over two weeks to go.  Look us up on Facebook, in the group Living Clean Pure and Simple...  the challenge is posted in that group.  You must request to join the group in order to be part of the group Salad Challenge.

If you don't desire to join the group or be present in the group challenge, you can still be a part of the challenge, by simply challenging yourself to create delicious fruit or vegetable or a mix of the two salads at least once per day.  Take photos for yourself to see what creative ideas you come up with.  If you cannot come up with anything creative or you get tired of what you are creating, search online for some ideas.  Either way, you will enjoy the benefits to this challenge.

Alykham Shalum,

Tamar
