Tahur and Toxins Don't Mix
Over the past few years Tahur has worked to perfect its hair and body recipes. We created and tested a great many recipes until we settled on a select few that we believe are truly crafted to provide the most nourishing and health promoting products for your natural lifestyle.
During this process, we have created and tested several natural body lotions and hair conditioners. We have found that adding water to any product creates a harmful environment within two to three days if some sort of preservative is not used. We also discovered that even essential oils aren't 100% effective in stopping the growth of fungus and bacteria in the presence of water.
The fact is, whenever water is present there is no combination of essential oils that will do anything other than delay, for a day or two, the growth of many harmful bacteria and fungi in handcrafted skin and hair care products.
Because if this, Tahur has not and will not provide for sell or free any water-based products, including lotions and conditioners. What we do offer are the most naturally nourishing, rejuvenating, and restoring products for your hair and body needs.
We carefully choose every ingredient that goes into our products, and we formulate those ingredients in such a way that they penetrate your skin, scalp, and hair follicles, locking in moisture and offering protection from environmental as well as self inflicted damage.
We aren't offering miracles, but we are offering a truly natural solution to your clean . pure. simple living.
Listed below are Ingredients you will never see in a Tahur product, as well as brief definitions of the harm these ingredients can cause.
Please note, that even some products listed as natural or natural derived contain many of the ingredients listed. We urge you to carefully read the ingredient list of every product you put on your body, your scalp, and hair. Because truly, if you wouldn't eat it, why would you wear it?
Acrylamides - thickeners used for a variety of cosmetic purposes. In personal care products they act as stabilizers to add richness and body. However the material may be a possible human carcinogen because of its potentially harmful impurities. It is already a restricted substance in European cosmetics.
Alcohol denat (denatured alcohol) - petrochemical by product. Also usually contains benzyl alcohol making it undrinkable. Can cause systemic eczematous contact dermatitis and chemical sensitivities. Used in all commercial perfumes, used as solvent.
Aluminum ingredients - skin irritants, can cause Alzheimer's, lung disease
Benzoic Acid - while naturally occurring can be derived from plants or animals. When derived from animals it is derived from urine, viscera, muscles, and gland secretions. Make sure your source is plant derived if using in vegan products. Too much benzoic acid may affect the liver and kidneys, along with more serious issues like excessive cyclamate.
Benzyl alcohol - Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Severe irritant for eyes, skin and respiratory system. Petrochemical.
Bismuth Oxychloride - Bismuth is put in cosmetics because it gives a sheen to!the face, is soft to the touch, and is extremely inexpensive. A by-product of lead and copper refining, bismuth oxychloride is a heavy metal. Heavy metals have been linked to Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s Disease.
BHA and BHT - Cancer, encourage the breakdown of vitamins such as vitamin D, can cause lipid and cholesterol levels to increase, endocrine disrupter.
Dehydroacetic acid - synthetic preservative classified as harmful and toxic to use around the mouth.
Diazolidinyl Urea is mixture of different formaldehyde addition products including polymers, produced by the chemical reaction of allantoin and formaldehyde in the presence of sodium hydroxide solution and heat. Is the 14th highest cause of contact dermatitis.
Diethanolamine - DEA is used as a skin softener and humectant in personal care products. It can be carcinogenic when combined with other ingredients. It is a skin irritant. It’s close and dangerous cousins are TEA, and MEA
Ethoxylates - chemical compounds made as reaction products involving ethylene oxide. Ethoxylated materials include ingredients such as Laureth, Myreth, Ceteth, Ceteareth, Glycereth, etc. Trace contaminants in some ethoxylates have been implicated as potent carcinogens.
Formaldehyde - preservative which include Imidazolidinyl Urea, Diazolidinyl Urea, DMDM Hydantoin and Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate. Known irritant and potential carcinogen. It is often hidden in other ingredients, banned in Sweden and Japan mainly because of its inability to inhibit the growth of acid producing bacteria and it's implication in cancer.
Fragrance - highly allergenic. Companies do not have to list the chemicals used in fragrances. They contain large quantities of toxins and chemicals not disclosed. Fragrance-free means that fragrance chemicals have been added to the product to mask the natural aromas of the ingredients.
Glycol - often used as solvents for preservatives and other materials. Glycols are potentially irritating and harmful to the skin. Examples are Propylene, Butylene, Pentylene, Hexylene, and Caprylyl Glycol.
Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate - IPBC is a suspected gastrointestinal and liver toxin, and is thought to present risks to human reproduction and development, having been linked to the potential for reduced fertility and increased risk of pregnancy problems. It’s a suspected teratogen, which means that it may increase the risk of birth defects. IPBC can also increase your risk for contact dermatitis—skin allergies. IPBC is also listed as: IBP Butyl-3-iodo-2-propynylcarbamate, carbamic acid, Glycacil®, IODOCARB®. This product is under restricted use in Europe and Japan.
Laureth family - sodium lauryl sulfate, any ingredient with laureth or lauryl in the name. Carcinogenic, skin irritants may be contaminated with large amounts of toxins in manufacturing process contains ammonium salts, mutagen, acne producing.
Mineral Oil - occlusive, non-nutritive petroleum derivative.
MMP (Matrix Metalloproteinase) - an enzyme that breaks down collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. They are involved in wound healing, but also cause premature aging of the skin and tumor cell metastasis.
Myreth - ethoxylated compound used in various surfactants such as Sodium Myreth Sulfate.
Methylisothiazolinone - antimicrobial agent found in some shampoos and hand creams and widely used in industrial settings inhibits the development of particular neuron structures that are essential for transmitting signals between cells. prolonged exposure to low levels of methylisothiazolinone (MIT) may have potentially damaging consequences to a developing nervous system.
Octyl stearate - acne producing, contact dermatitis, allergic reactions
Parabens-petro-chemicals - (methyl, propyl, etc. - paraben family) implicated in a multitude of health problems, estrogenic, cancer causing, allergenic, found in breast tissue, replicates in dna, stored in fat cells.
Phthalates – Phthalates are synthetic chemical compounds mainly used as softening agents and to create fragrance. Look out for your plastics – squeeze bottles, shower curtains, soft plastics. Carcinogens, mutation agents.
Parabens - Parabens are synthetic compounds used as a preservative in most beauty products. You can find them listed as methylparabens, propylparabens, butylparabens, and ethylparabens. Parabens cause many allergic reactions and skin rashes. They have also been found in breast cancer tissue.
PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) - a water soluble polymer used as an emulsifier and plasticizer. Impurities in these materials have been cited as potentially carcinogenic.
Petrochemicals - derived from raw materials of petroleum or natural gas origin. These include materials such as propylene glycol, ethoxylates, acrylamides, mineral oil and polyethylene glycol (PEG). Peg ingredients - carcinogens, acne promoters, contact dermatitis.
Petrolatum - derivative also known as petroleum jelly. Petrolatum is very occlusive and can clog pores. Additionally it provides no nutritive value to the skin and contains no essential fatty acids petroleum by-products can pass through the brain barrier and cause ADD/dyslexia symptoms. Acne producing, may be carcinogenic, causes dry skin, respiratory toxin, may cause dizziness.
Phenoxyethanol - synthetic ether alcohol preservative. can cause contact dermatitis. synthetic preservatives are considered by leading dermatological associations to be the number one cause of contact dermatitis. Toxic to infants via ingestion, and "can depress the central nervous system and may cause vomiting and diarrhea." Combined with chlorphenesin, these two chemicals can cause respiratory depression in infants. May have neurotoxin potential.
Silicone - synthetic additive used to provide emolliency. Some forms of silicone such as Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone and Cyclopentasiloxane, Methicone, and Phenyl Trimethicone can be harmful or irritating to the skin.
Sodium Laurel Sulfate – SLS is put in many soaps, cleansers, and shampoos to enhance the foaming action of a product. It is a common skin irritant and is rapidly absorbed into the heart, liver, brain, and eyes, which can cause long-term effects. It has been linked to cataracts in adults and inhibiting proper development of children’s eyes.
Sodium Laureth Sulfate – SLES is another form of SLS. When reacting with other ingredients, it can be carcinogenic and rapidly absorbs into the body. It is a skin irritant and may cause hair loss.
Sorbic acid, while naturally occurring involves condensation of malonic acid and trans-butenal. It can also be prepared from isomeric hexadienoic acids, which are available via a nickel-catalyzed reaction of allyl chloride, acetylene, and carbon monoxide. The route used commercially, however, is from crotonaldehyde and ketene. Crotonaldehyde is extremely Hazardous.
Synthetic Dyes – Synthetic colors are a byproducts of the petroleum industry. The molecular structure of these products are so small that they can pass through the brain barrier. This can manifest itself as turning numbers backwards when writing or reading, peeling skin, acne, or ADD symptoms. Many people have allergies to artificial colorings, especially red 40.
Talc – Talc has asbestos in it. Asbestos is another dangerous carcinogen. Do not use on babies, linked to ovarian cancer, respiratory toxin
TEA - Triethanolamine ingredients with TEA in front such as Tea lauryl sulfate) severe irritants, can contain ammonium salts, eye irritant, sensitizer, may cause formation of carcinogens, mildly toxic.
The following are a list of Preservatives often found in many "natural" products:
Optiphen Plus contains Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid - see above list
Optiphen contains Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol - see above list
Optiphen ND contains phenoxyethanol, benzoic acid, and dehydroacetic acid - see above list

Boycott Seedless Fruit
To say I'm horrified is putting it mildly. Apparently the demand has gotten so great for seedless fruit that seeded fruit is almost non existent.
Many people do not care that man is corrupting our food supply and destroying the natural DNA of our food, thereby destroying our natural DNA as well. I am not being overly dramatic. I'm being very real here. Sooner or later there will be no more real food!
Seedless citrus fruit makes reproducing citrus trees from seed pretty much impossible.
Seedless fruit is obtained by grafting buds from existing seedless trees onto young trees. LABORATORIES grow seedless plant matter in a growing solution until it is vial me. Then they plant it in a growing medium until the plant is a small sapling and can be transplanted to a grove.
These folks are playing Creator. They are messing up the Eco system YHUH created. They are causing people to die through diverse diseases.
And guess what?? As long as we buy it they will continue to make money. And as long as they are making money they do NOT CARE!
At some point we should care enough about what we are putting into our bodies and the bodies of our future generations.
Is it really that hard to deseed a pummelo or a mandarin? Would you rather do that or try and figure out why your blood isn't absorbing enough iron resulting in some sort of chronic blood disorder?
If you don't care about your body, care about our planet. It is the only one we have. Brashyth/Genesis 1 and 2 tell us that our purpose was to make it fruitful and to help it thrive. Instead we are killing it b
Brashyth 1:29 tells us that seeded plants and fruit are supposed to be our food. Something grown in a laboratory can never be considered food. It's an experiment. We can continue to let science experiment with our world or we can do something about it.

Thirty Day Salad Challenge
It's been a little while since I last posted here.. Wanted to do a quick update on the goings on with Tahur..We completed the 30 day raw food challenge, and it was amazing. The sisters and I had a great time of nutritional, spiritual, and physical growth. During the challenge we gained mental clarity, emotional strength, a change in our appetites, as well as the kind of foods we desired to eat. We became more energized, and slept better. All in all, the challenge brought us closer together in fellowship and sisterhood. It was such a success, that we decided to do another challenge. One that wasn't as strict as the raw food challenge, but a challenge nevertheless.
A little over a week ago, we embarked on a 30 day salad challenge. The challenge was to make at least one meal of your day a salad. A salad that is that was simply a combination of fruits and/or vegetables and nothing else.
We are on day 9 of the challenge, and so far it's been going great. We've been sharing photos and ideas, and just enjoying the overall health benefits to be enjoyed during this challenge.
It isn't too late to join us. We still have a little over two weeks to go. Look us up on Facebook, in the group Living Clean Pure and Simple... the challenge is posted in that group. You must request to join the group in order to be part of the group Salad Challenge.
If you don't desire to join the group or be present in the group challenge, you can still be a part of the challenge, by simply challenging yourself to create delicious fruit or vegetable or a mix of the two salads at least once per day. Take photos for yourself to see what creative ideas you come up with. If you cannot come up with anything creative or you get tired of what you are creating, search online for some ideas. Either way, you will enjoy the benefits to this challenge.

Don't Forget To Break Your Fast
Many new to a raw food diet find it hard to decide what to eat for breakfast. Most people are so used to eating dead foods, heated foods, or dense foods when they do eat breakfast, that just thinking about raw food for breakfast can be intimidating. Truth is, raw breakfasts are usually healthier for you, and can also be very simple to make.
Why breakfast?
Eating within an hour or 2 of waking can make a difference in the way you metabolize glucose, or blood sugar, all day. Your glucose level rises every time you eat, and your pancreas produces insulin to shuttle the glucose into your cells, where it’s used for energy. Research is finding that keeping glucose and insulin in the right balance has important effects on metabolism and health.
Many nutrition doctors and professors believe that after eating a healthy breakfast your blood sugar increases a little bit, but that it takes a while for your body to absorb the food. This keeps you from feeling hungry longer.
If you don’t eat breakfast, though, the prolonged fasting might lead to a bigger than normal boost in “hunger hormones” such as ghrelin, encouraging you to overeat at your next meal and leading to spikes and dips in glucose. Over time, if your pancreas is constantly producing insulin to compensate for high levels of glucose, it will burn out and you may develop diabetes.
What to eat?
What to eat?
After a meal, blood goes to the digestive system and away from the muscles, brain and other systems. After a big, complex meal most of the body’s blood goes to the digestive process and there is not enough oxygen for the brain– which is why you fall asleep after a big meal. So, what you eat is important. If your idea of breakfast is a doughnut and a cup of coffee, or sugary cereal and a glass of fruit juice, or even pancakes, bacon, and eggs, you’re setting the stage for metabolic havoc. Fortunately, breakfast can be full of flavor as well as healthy
Food combining:
Fruits and vegetables, which are mostly water, take a short time in the digestive tract. The more complex, dense foods you eat at a meal, the longer digestion takes. If in the system too long, sugars and starches can ferment and proteins can putrefy. For this reason the optimum meal is the mono-meal: eating one food at a time. If you wish to eat more than one food at a time, it is good to know how to combine foods so that a meal requires as little blood for digestion as possible. This frees up more fuel and oxygen for the muscles, nervous system and brain. Correct combinations also encourage proper digestion, assimilation and elimination of food eaten.
- Eat fruit alone (an exception is acidic fruits- citrus and tomatoes- which will combine with vegetables and fats.
- Eat melons alone
- Don’t combine starches with acids or sugars (such as bread with tomatoes or sweet pastries)
- Don’t combine proteins with starches
- Try water or tea before your meal
- Try to reduce or eliminate eating between meals
Give it a try
Try a green smoothie, or a cup of plain goat or sheep milk yogurt with berries for a satisfying first meal of the day. Even a small vegetable salad gives your body enough boost to help start your day. Vegetable salads are nutrient rich to boot! Breakfast doesn't have to be, and shouldn't be difficult or too dense, but it can be delicious and healthy.

Why Tahur is so important to me
I am feeling a need to tell my story.
Years ago I was having a hard time with my digestive system. My doctor at the time didn't test me for anything. She just said stop eating beef. No reason. Just said stop. So I did. I felt better. But not completely.
I continued to suffer heartburn and what I later learned was reflux. I had diarrhea all the time. It was horrible.
In addition to all of this, I had been a lifelong migraine, asthma, and allergy sufferer. I never thought about why I had all of these ailments. I just took the meds.
Then I read Brashyth 1:29 during study after coming to the truth in יהוה.
It hit me hard. And while everyone else was focussing on Uyaqra chapter 11, I couldn't get past Brashyth 1:29.
So I began to seek an understanding of this way of eating יהוה planned for us.
During the time I was trying to discern this, I was also suffering from chronic neutropenia. For those that don't know what that is, is where you have chronic low white blood cells and this ailment makes you susceptible to illness and being unable to heal quickly.
I was being tested for everything. I was very sick for over two years. But the disease had been afflicting me for about five years. It had just gotten worse because it had not been treated.
I am thankful to יהוה for being my healer.
The study of Brashyth 1:29 led me to study Uyaqra 19:19 and Dbarym 22:9-11
What did YHUH really mean by two seeds and defilement?
After years of studying I still believe I don't have all of the answers, but this one thing I do know, and that is He never gave us meat to eat. He allowed it after we continued horribly in sin. And that He punishes those who crave it. Bmadbar 11.
So in all of my research and studies I have come to an understanding about the difference between natural hybridization which is also called cross pollination, and manmade hybridization which has been termed mechanical pollination. I have been made to understand that manmade hybridization is pretty much the same as GMO. It's mans way of altering the genetic DNA of a species to change its outcome. This is a direct violation of both Uyaqra 19:19 and Dabarym 22:9
I have made it a mission of sorts to determine what foods currently available in this forsaken land we live in actually meet the criteria יהוה gave us in His word.
The paleo diet is not it
Vegetarianism is not it
Veganism is not it
Carnivorism is not it
He was very plain. Fruits and plants that bear seed as well as are not the result of man mixing seeds together or planting them together.
In the U.S. especially, this leaves us very limited.
I've heard a lot of people say it's too hard.
I've heard people use the excuse that we are in the diaspora.
But I've read the Word that said even in the land where I send you, be obedient.
It is important to remember that we are here because we failed to obey. And we need to remember that even the land has been defiled. And we need to understand that as a people we must humble ourselves and pray turn completely away from all manner of sin and seek יהוה. If we do not do this, then the land will remain defiled and we will remain right where we are.
So what does this mean for those choosing to be obedient in this? Well it means limited food choices. And it means learning to cook with the foods that we can discern to be clean. And it means pushing away from the pagan tables. And it means trusting יהוה to provide our bodies with what we need. Even in the diaspora.
I can witness that I have not suffered a migraine, or an asthma attack in over two years. Both conditions having been crippling my entire life.
I no longer have gerds or neutropenia.
And I am trusting completely in יהוה for complete healing of my mind body and soul.
At some point we have to get out of our own way and just trust Him.
It's really that simple.
That's not to say trials won't ever come. But it does mean that because we Trust Him we will be able to stand in the midst of those trials.
That's why this blog my website and Facebook group Living Clean Pure & Simple and their purpose is so important to me and so close to my inner being.
Learning to discern between the clean and unclean in all things is a requirement of this walk. And learning to lean on the understanding of יהוה is what makes it easier.

Why Are the children of יהוה begging bread???
There are some things that I need to talk about that has my inner being saddened and broken.
Lately I've been hearing so many stories about the plight of my sisters and their children in this forsaken land. Women who have been down trodden, trying to do what's right, trying to live clean but truly unable to do so. Not by choice but out of lack.
In the face of all this turmoil that's taking place in their lives, they are surrounded by teachers and preachers and brothers and sisters who hear their tales of woe, yet offer nothing but words of "sympathy."
Dabarym 15:7 If there is a poor man with you, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which יהוה your Mighty One is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from your poor brother; 8but you shall freely open your hand to him, and shall generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.…
Mashly 14:31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Creator but whoever is kind to the needy honors Him
Mashly 21:13 Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will also cry
Yashayahu 58:6 Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? 7 is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
All these folks talking about building communities seeking financial assistance to do that, yet won't lift a finger to help someone in their need??? Give me several breaks. This is not of יהוה. This is selfishness and greed.
How can we expect a healing of our land and a pardoning of our wickedness if we are not truly humble? We cannot be said to be seeking יהוה if we are not being obedient to His commands to provide for the widow the orphans and the poor in our midst.
I'm just sick and tired of being sick and tired of people being selfish and greedy and puffed up in their own righteousness while the people who are doing their darnedest to follow יהוה in all ways are being tossed aside and not looked after because they have a need others aren't trying to help meet. If there are so many of who claim to be called by HIS name, why are there still so many we aren't taking care of?
We ALL have a responsibility to this call. And not enough people are answering it. For surely if we were this plague wouldn't still be upon us.
We need to stop being so self righteous and truly begin to act righteously.

Raw Food Challenge Is Just Days Away
Shalum and welcome.
I am glad to announce that we are just days away from our Raw Food Challenge beginning 10/7/15 and ending 11/6/15.
The raw food challenge is about eating healthier to heal our bodies and maintain Ruach filled health. It's about encouraging each other to eat to live instead of just eating.
YHUH gave us some very clear instructions about eating. His original plan for His people was a seeded plant based and seeded fruit based diet.
Chata/transgression/Sin caused a riff between YHUH and His people. But He promised to return to us if we returned to Him.
People say a vegan diet is difficult and too expensive. I personally have been eating this way long enough to discover that it is actually more expensive to eat the current diet of the masses. It's more expensive both physically and spiritually.
Eating at least 70% raw and eating your cooked vegetables and grains certain ways will cleanse your system and create a healthier environment that can help you lose weight, feel and sleep better, as well as increase your energy levels, memory, and quality of life.
The world takes enough from us. We shouldn't be the ones adding trouble to it.
I will be posting videos throughout the challenge on the 7shepherdess YouTube channel, and am posting the link to the first videos below.
While we partake on this journey, it is my sincere hope that as we get back to eating the way יהוה intended for us to eat, that we look at this as not just a passing fad, but as a way to continue pass the thirty days into the remainder of our lives.
So please join this challenge and let's start our journey toward healthy Scriptural eating for healthy Scriptural living.

Paleo Diet? I'm not impressed....
I am vegan. however that is not the reason why I researched and wrote this post. I wrote this post, because I looked at the “paleo” diet and was not impressed. The word
paleo is greek and it means ancient.
paleo- older or ancient, especially relating to the
geological past. "Paleolithic" Origin from Greek palaios ‘ancient.’
The Greeks, though an ancient civilization, were not the
first civilization on the earth, not to mention they were a highly pagan, idol
worshipping civilization. Personally, I
feel unclean just thinking about eating anything even inadvertently to do with
them.
However, every time Yasharal was taken in captivity, they
had become accustomed, just as we have today, to eating the food of the pagan
captors. Every time, the turah regarding
food had to be given back to them. We
know from the accounts in Shamuth and B’Madbar that this didn’t always sit too
well with them. They groaned and
complained all the time.
Anyway, this paleo diet fad has become the thing to do, especially
now that athletes and entertainers have jumped on the paleo bandwagon. But, is this the diet of the children of
Yasharal? Is it a way of eating we should
be partaking in?
Well let’s take a look at the difference between the paleo
diet, and what YHUH declared was to be our way of eating…..
As with eating paleo the way of eating in Scripture
focuses on eating real, whole, fresh food that is sustainably raised. As well
as not having anything GMO, or high in chemicals, additives, artificial
sweeteners, preservatives, dyes, etc. Yet here, is really the only place where the
two are similar.
Breaking down the
similarities and differences
Both ways of eating are high in vegetables and
fruits. We understand that fruits and
vegetables are high in phytonutrients that protect and guard against many
diseases. And scripture points only to
ancient grains and the grains of today, such as corn, wheat, and even oats are
not the same as grains cultivated and eaten by our ancestors.
Something else to consider is that modern grains not only
contain gluten (wheat and oats), but they also can also increase your blood
sugar, especially corn. In addition, grains though packed with fiber,
are also starches, and should not be consumed with protein.
Where the paleo diet recommends lower glycemic fruit such
as berries, while according to Brashyth 1:29 all foods and fruits that contained
tsara (seeds) were to be considered food.
ALL…
Scripture also calls us to also not eat foods that are the
result of divers seeds planted together.
Manmade hybrids would cover this, as well as planting different seeds in
the same plot, box, etc. (Uyaqra 19:19 “You shall keep my statutes. You shall
not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field
with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two kinds
of material. DBarym 22:9 You shall not
sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, LEST THE WHOLE YIELD BE DEFILED, the fruit
of YOUR SEED that you have sown and the yield of the vineyard. ) This means no eating of foods that have been
mixed and/or sowed or bred together.
That means no cow or chicken, and many fruits and vegetables such as
cavenaugh bananas, oranges, lemons, and even most apples. (natural hybridization is different than man
deliberately changing the DNA of a food product.)
The Paleo diet focuses more on eating low glycemic
fruits, which can be any fruit.
Scripture on the other hands focusses on eating seeded fruits and
vegetables as well as non-hybrid fruits and vegetables.
What about fats:
The paleo diet focuses on receiving fats from oils, nuts,
seeds, and avocados. And this would
line up well with Scripture. However,
according to the paleo diet, people are encouraged to eat generous amounts of
saturated fats like coconut oil and butter or clarified butter. Beef tallow, lard and duck fat are also
good, but only if they come from healthy and well-treated animals. Beef or lamb tallow is a better choice than
lamb or duck fat. Olive, avocado and
macadamia oil are also good fats to use in salads and to drizzle over food, but
not for cooking.
It goes on to say that if you are eating goat and/or lamb
milk, butter, yogurt, cheese to make sure they are consumed by these animals
that are sustainably raised or grass fed.
Scripture most definitely differs on the account of
fat. In fact, Scripture specifically
points out that we are not to eat blood or fat, even from clean animals. Uyaqra
7:23-27 where it states:
“Speak to the children of Yasharal, saying: ‘You shall not eat any fat, of ox or sheep
or goat. And the fat of an animal that dies naturally, and the fat of what
is torn by wild beasts, may be used in any other way; but you shall by no means eat it. For whoever eats the fat of the animals of which men offer an offering
made by fire to YHUH, the person who eats it shall be cut off from his people.
Moreover you shall not eat any blood in any of your dwellings, whether of bird
or beast. Whoever eats any blood, that person shall be cut off from his
people.”
Uyaqra 3:14-17: “Then he shall offer from it his
offering, as an offering made by fire to YHUH. The fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the
entrails, the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the
fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall REMOVE; and
the kahan shall burn them on the slaughtering
place as food, an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma; all the fat is YHUH’s.
This shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your
dwellings: you shall eat neither fat nor
blood.”
Uyaqra 5:15 establishes this further. The Kahanym were to
eat from the meat, after doing the following: “… all the fat thereof; the rump, and the fat that covers the inwards, And
the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the
caul that is above the liver [the fatty membrane surrounding the liver], with
the kidneys, it shall he take away: And the kahan shall burn them on the slaughtering
place for an offering made by fire unto YHUH: it is a trespass offering
What about fish?
Per the paleo diet rules, if you are eating fish you
should choose low mercury and low toxin containing fish such as sardines,
herring and anchovies or other small fish and avoid tuna, swordfish and Chilean
sea bass because of the high mercury load.
Scriptures states:
Dabarym 14: 9"These you may
eat of all that are in water: anything that has fins and scales you may eat,
10but anything that does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is
unclean for you. Uyaqra 11:10 But all
creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales--whether
among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the
water--you are to regard as unclean.
As long as the fish above has fins and scales, it is
tahar or clean to eat. Should we worry
about mercury? But of course.
What about dairy?
The paleo diet shuns dairy products, stating that it
leads to obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer and may increase (not
decrease) the risk of osteoporosis.
Scripture does not shun dairy. In fact, we are told that YHUH lead the
people to a land flowing with Chalab (milk) and Dabash (date syrup or tree
sap). Shamuth 3:8, 17, 33:3; Yachatsqal
20:6.
But does this mean that we were to partake of it? Well there seems to be many verses that point
to consumption of dairy products both in and out of captivity, and there is no
command not to partake of dairy products.
Though Chalab is translated mostly as milk, it appears
that for human consumption, it pointed more to kefir like drinks or yogurt. Scripture says chalab was both a drink as
well as something that was eaten. All
the verses regarding milk referenced goat and/or sheep milk. Never milk from cattle. Brashyth 18:8; Mashly 27:27, 30:33; Shamual
Alaph 7:9 (there’s more but too many to list them all)
The word chamaah is translated as curd and means butter
usually although sometimes cheese.
Now, the way that cheese is made currently, it would appear
that all the chemical pasteurization as well as the usually pork rennet and enzymes
used to mold cheese and keep it from perishing, as well as the coloring that
goes into most cheeses would render these products unclean. However there are clean cheeses out there
made from goats and sheep that do not contain these products. In addition, the lactate from goat and sheep
milk does not have the same effect on the human body as the lactate from cow
milk. One is led to wonder if this Is
due to the fact that the cows we know today, are not the cattle of ancient
times.
Meat is really
where the differences get a little tricky
The paleo diets dictates that eating sustainably raised, lean
grass fed meat, pastured poultry and lamb, wild fish, eggs, and other esoteric meats such as ostrich,
bison or venison as part a healthy diet is not likely harmful and is very
helpful in reducing triglycerides, raising HDL (or good cholesterol), lowering
blood sugar, reducing belly fat, reducing appetite, raising testosterone and
increasing muscle mass.
They only make the case that eating too much meat puts
pressure on the planet – more water use, more climate change, and more energy
inputs, and say to eat meat as a side dish or condiment, and only consume grass
fed and sustainably-raised.
Now scripture says something completely different…
To begin with, Scripture explicitly states that YHUH
planned for our diet to be seeded fruits and grasses. Sin was the cause of the transition to the
eating of clean meat. (meats mostly used
in slaughterings to YHUH) Uyaqra 11
states emphatically which animals were clean and which animals were
unclean. Many stop there and say, well
if it’s not listed, then it must be clean.
But we also need to look at a few other verses to get a better
understanding of what types of meat were clean and unclean. First off, ostrich most definitely was on the
list of unclean meats. But what about
chicken, turkey, and cow meat? None of
these animals were on either list. That’s
why we need Uyaqra 19:19 and Dbarym 20:9 to give us clearer understanding. According to both of these verses, we also
were not allowed to eat meat from an animal that had been the result of mixing
seed. It has been scientifically proven that
chickens are manmade and were created after the accounts in Scripture. Most folks use this as their excuse to
consume chicken. However, a chicken is a
manmade hybrid bird. The result of
crossing four different birds, one of which remains unknown, and one of which
is a hybrid itself. It is the same with
modern cattle. Bison, oxen, and buffalo
are all descendant from ancient ancestors.
They were domesticated in some places, and left to run wild in
others. Used mostly for their hides
these animals though domesticated are truer to type than the modern cow. The reason being, is that the cow is a cross
breed of several different types of ancient cattle. While it is believed the auroch is the
ancient ancestor of the cow, just like with some fruits and vegetables that
have gone through manmade dna changes, modern cows are also unclean by
scriptural standards.
So there you have it.
The difference between the paleo diet and statutes and instructions of
YHUH around clean and unclean foods.
Something to note, is that most people in the blue zones, eat mostly
non-hybrid fruits and vegetables and consume mostly fish as their “meat”,
leaving goat and lamb for special occasions.
This ties in with how our Scriptural ancestors ate, and accounts for
their very low stats when it comes to disease, obesity, and illness.
As for me, I prefer to eat Brashyth 1:29. Just as it was the plan of YHUH for us from
the beginning, it is His plan for us in the end. (Yashayahu 11:1-9) What a baruk day that will be!

Raw Food Challenge
This is the first time I've blogged a challenge. But let me tell you, I am super excited to be preparing to enter into this coming challenge. Me, and some of my Yasharalyt sisters, will be embarking upon a 30 day challenge to eat as raw as possible. Per the challenge, this means eating at least 80% of your food raw. My goal is to eat 100% raw. In the meantime, I have begun detoxing my body of stuff that I normally (but shouldn't) be eating. I have stopped drinking coffee, and aim to stop eating roasted and salted nuts, and consuming any processed foods and processed sugars.
I eat a pretty good diet, but I know that it is not as good as it can and should be.
I welcome anyone reading this message to join the challenge. From 10/7/15 to 11/16/15 I will be posting and sharing recipes and encouragement. Not just my own, but submissions from the other sisters also.
Hope you join the challenge....
(I will be posting a YouTube video
titled raw food challenge, regarding why raw as it pertains to Scripture and our health)

Why I Only Eat Seeded Watermelon
Watermelons are a vine-like flowering plant that probably
originated almost 5,000 years ago in the Kalahari Desert of Africa where
botanists have found its wild ancestors still growing.
I love watermelon.
Watermelon is sweet and delicious, refreshing and nutritionally
beneficial. (I am referring to seeded
watermelon). I eat it by itself, freeze it for smoothies, make salads with it,
and sauces.
I love that Watermelon is good for prostate health,
erectile dysfunction, dehydration, constipation, infection, detoxifying, kidney
health, blood pressure, appetite, diabetes, and heart health, which all benefit
(or improve) with watermelon. Watermelon,
since it is 91% water, can help with hydration and electrolytes. Watermelon hydrates our cells and balances
the pH in our bodies.
Due to the citrulline content, watermelon may also reduce
and treat erectile dysfunction. Citrulline
relaxes and dilates blood vessels. Watermelon
also is high in vitamin C (antioxidant), vitamin A (beta carotene), lycopene (phytonutrient)
and citrulline (an amino acid). In fact,
a same serving of watermelon is said to contain more lycopene than tomatoes. Scientists
have found that lycopene molecules in tomatoes that are combined with fat and
subjected to intense heat during processing are restructured in a way that
appears to ease their transport into the bloodstream and tissue. You do not have to cook watermelon in order
to receive this same benefit.
Accessing the total medicinal benefits of watermelon is
highly dependent on the variety of watermelon and the ripeness. Beta carotene
and lycopene are usually bio-available in the highest quantities once the
watermelon is completely ripe. Watermelon seeds and rind also pack quite a few nutrients
as well, particularly roughage and fiber.
Blood Pressure
Relaxed blood vessels mean a lower blood pressure. The
arginine in watermelon that relaxes blood vessels has other health benefits. It
promotes production of nitric oxide. In addition to relaxing blood vessels,
this compound has been shown to reduce blood clotting and encourage smooth
blood flow, preventing heart attacks and strokes. Also, increased hydration
helps lower blood pressure and can help detoxify the blood as well.
Prostate Health
Watermelon contains more lycopene than any fresh fruit or
vegetable. Lycopene has known antioxidant qualities to keep the skin, heart,
and prostate healthy. Studies have shown that people who ingest lycopene can
help the prostate regenerate faster and stay healthier longer.
Colon Health
Watermelon is particularly useful in fighting colon
cancer due to its cleansing effect, its alkalinity, and its ability to hydrate
cells. Watermelon aids in flushing the colon, kidneys, and to a lesser degree,
the liver.
Erectile
Dysfunction
Arginine and citrulline make watermelon a wonderful
natural remedy for impotence. Both arginine and citrulline relax blood vessels,
including the vessels in the male reproductive system. Relaxed vessels allow
for a natural erection response. Watermelon is also anti-inflammatory.
Macular
Degeneration
With beta carotene, vitamin-C, lutein, and zeaxanthin,
watermelon is one of the best foods for nourishing the eyes. These antioxidants
will protect your eyes from other age-related ailments such as drying of eyes
and optical nerves, as well as glaucoma.
Anxiety
Watermelon contains vitamin B6 which is a superb weapon
against anxiety. This vitamin influences brain chemicals responsible for
calming moods and allows you to make better decisions under stress.
Skin
Lycopene is also beneficial for the skin. The
antioxidants decrease free radicals from the body known for causing age-spots,
fine lines, and wrinkles. Hydration also plays a huge role in looking and
feeling younger. Hydrated skin looks much younger and heals much faster than
dehydrated skin. Watermelon also aids
skin in other ways as well, like removing excess oil from the skin that helps
cause acne.
Detoxification
Dr. Ariel Policano, a naturopathic physician, says that
watermelon helps the liver process ammonia, a toxic nitrogen-containing waste
product left over from amino acid metabolism — and convert it into a molecule
known as urea, a component of urine that is safely excreted from the body.
Along with benefits to the colon, the liver, and the kidneys, watermelon is
very good at flushing out the body, moving undesired waste to be evacuated.
Watermelon Seeds
Watermelon seeds also have properties similar to pumpkin
seeds that are good for your prostate. Watermelon
seeds are a good source of the B vitamins Thiamin, niacin, and folate.
Watermelon seeds are rich in minerals like magnesium, manganese, phosphorus,
zinc, iron, potassium and copper. 100 grams of watermelon seeds provides around
139%, 87%, 82%, 74%, 44%, 20% and 37% of daily dietary values of these minerals
respectively. Watermelon seeds are also a good source of dietary fiber which is
essential for healthy bowel movements and digestion.
Watermelons are a vine-like flowering plant that probably
originated almost 5,000 years ago in the Kalahari Desert of Africa where botanists
have found its wild ancestors still growing. Today, in the United States, in
the Southern states such as the Carolinas and Georgia, watermelons flourish as
commercial crops.
Seedless
Watermelon
Seedless watermelons are not genetically modified, in the
way we think of genetic modification. In
other words, they haven’t been spliced and diced and genetically altered with
the DNA from another species.
However, they are genetic hybrids. (In my humble opinion, there’s not much
difference, and I’m going to try and share why)
Seedless watermelons are relatively new, having been
created only in the last 50 years or so. Seedless watermelons are sterile
hybrid fruits cross bred similar the way breeding a horse with a donkey creates
a mule.
Seedless watermelon is grown two ways. The first way is through
breeders. Usually watermelons are diploid, meaning they have two sets of 11
chromosomes. Seedless watermelon is a triploid because it has 3 sets of
chromosomes and are sterile. In order to produce seedless watermelons, a
diploid watermelon is pollinated by a tetraploid (4 chromosomes) watermelon. In
the process of reproduction, the new watermelon gets one chromosome from the
diploid parent and two from the tetraploid which makes it triploid. Since the triploids have three sets, the eggs
inside the watermelon are never formed and thus, seeds don’t grow. This change is a genetic modification of the
original melon, which is why I consider it a genetically modified organism.
The second way to grow seedless watermelon is by using a
drug called Colchicine, a chromosome-altering chemical widely used to treat
rheumatism and gout. This drug is a toxic natural product and secondary
metabolite, originally extracted from plants of the genus Colchicum (autumn
crocus, Colchicum autumnale, also known as "meadow saffron").
Since chromosome segregation is driven by microtubules,
colchicine is also used for inducing polyploidy in plant cells during cellular
division by inhibiting chromosome segregation during meiosis; half the
resulting gametes, therefore, contain no chromosomes, while the other half
contains double the usual number of chromosomes (i.e., diploid instead of
haploid, as gametes usually are), and lead to embryos with double the usual
number of chromosomes (i.e., tetraploid instead of diploid). WHILE THIS WOULD BE FATAL IN MOST HIGHER
ANIMAL CELLS, IN PLANT CELLS IT IS NOT ONLY USUALLY WELL TOLERATED, BUT ALSO
FREQUENTLY RESULTS IN LARGER, HARDIER, FASTER-GROWING, AND IN GENERAL MORE
DESIRABLE PLANTS THAN THE NORMALLY DIPLOID PARENTS; FOR THIS REASON, THIS TYPE
OF GENETIC MANIPULATION IS FREQUENTLY USED IN BREEDING PLANTS COMMERCIALLY.
When such a tetraploid plant is crossed with a diploid
plant, the triploid offspring are usually sterile (unable to produce fertile
seeds or spores), although many triploids can be propagated vegetatively.
Growers of annual triploid plants not readily propagated must buy fresh seed
from a supplier each year.
In certain species, colchicine-induced triploidy has been
used to create "seedless" fruit, such as seedless watermelons (Citrullus
lanatus). Since most triploids do not produce pollen themselves, such plants
usually require cross-pollination with a diploid parent to induce fruit
production.
Colchicine's ability to induce polyploidy can be also
exploited to render infertile hybrids fertile, for example in breeding
triticale (× Triticosecale) from wheat (Triticum spp.) and rye (Secale
cereale). Wheat is typically tetraploid and rye diploid, with their triploid
hybrid infertile; treatment of triploid triticale with colchicine gives fertile
hexaploid triticale.
Side effects include gastrointestinal upset and
neutropenia. High doses can also damage bone marrow and lead to anemia, and
cause hair loss. All of these side effects can result from hyperinhibition of
mitosis.
Organic Seedless
Watermelon
What about organic seedless watermelons? We need to remember that organic simply means
that organic foods are produced by organic farming. While the standards differ
worldwide, organic farming in general features cultural, biological, and
mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological
balance, and conserve biodiversity. Synthetic pesticides and chemical
fertilizers are not allowed, although certain organically approved pesticides
may be used under limited conditions. In general, organic foods are also not
processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or synthetic food additives.
But since chemicals or special hybridization methods were
used to alter the seeds, even certified organic melons are genetically modified
food.
Unfortunately, it is hard to find seeded watermelon in
regular stores, even during season. You usually have to go to a local farmers
market to get them.
The first and
final authority on why I would never eat seedless watermelon even if it were “healthier”
for me
B’Rashyth/Genesis 1:29
And Alahym said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed,
which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit
of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:
U’Yaqra/Leviticus 19:19 “You shall keep my statutes. You
shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your
field with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two
kinds of material.
Dbarym/Deut. 22: 9 “You shall not sow your vineyard with
two kinds of seed, lest the whole yield be destroyed the crop that you have sown and the yield of
the vineyard. 10 You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together. 11 You shall
not wear cloth of wool and linen mixed together.
